Mental Health America of Arizona (MHA AZ) is pleased to bring you our 2022 SEEDS conference IN-PERSON! This year’s conference theme, Strength and Resilience, will build collaborative partnerships that promote the mental health, resilience and self-determination of countless people across Arizona. We hope to provide parents, caregivers, professionals and community leaders with strategies to navigate the behavioral health system, and provide valuable resources for all to use. Through stigma reduction, community collaboration and peer involvement, we seek to normalize help seeking behaviors of individuals and promote constructive conversation.

Afternoon: Margie Balfour - Chief of Quality & Clinical Innovation, Connections Behavioral Health

 

Some Of The Breakout Sessions Will Discuss:

  • Understanding the behavior of others - and of ourselves
  • Discussing the complications and messiness of grief and how to move towards healing with resilience
  • Exploring the dynamic interrelationship between nutrition, brain health and gut health
  • How to integrate mental health in the medical model and introduce strategies that work for the unconventional therapy environment

Why Mental Health First Aid?

Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
